OData, the Latin American data center platform owned by Aligned Data Centers, is deploying Aligned's proprietary DeltaFlow liquid cooling system at two of its facilities in Brazil and Mexico, marking a significant expansion of advanced cooling technology across the region as demand for high-density AI computing accelerates.
The project, valued at $630 million across both sites, will see DeltaFlow installed at OData's SP04 data center in Brazil and its QR03 facility in Mexico. Phase one installation and testing are already underway at both locations. The DeltaFlow system was developed by Aligned in conjunction with power and cooling vendor Munters, and will enable the facilities to support a hybrid air and liquid cooling architecture capable of accommodating high-density AI racks.
OData already operates Aligned's air cooling system, Delta Cubed, at these data centers. The addition of DeltaFlow represents a natural progression in the company's cooling strategy, allowing it to serve both traditional and next-generation workloads from the same facilities.
"Bringing DeltaFlow to Latin America reflects our commitment to staying ahead of the market's evolving needs," said Ricardo Alário, CEO of OData. "Just as we did with Delta Cubed, our goal is to establish DeltaFlow as the market benchmark for liquid cooling, further strengthening OData's leadership in innovation and helping ensure that Latin America is ready to support the next generation of applications."
The DeltaFlow units are manufactured at Munters' factory in Araucaria, located in Paraná state, Brazil, giving the project a local manufacturing footprint that supports regional supply chain resilience. "Our global manufacturing footprint enables us to support Aligned and OData with their state-of-the-art cooling technologies as they continue to expand digital infrastructure capacity across Latin America and beyond," said Keith Dunnavant, vice president of offer strategy and portfolio management at Munters.
The deployment underscores a broader industry shift toward liquid cooling as AI workloads push rack densities beyond the practical limits of traditional air-based thermal management. For Latin America, the move signals that the region's data center infrastructure is being upgraded to handle the computational demands of next-generation applications, positioning OData and Aligned to capture growing enterprise and hyperscale demand. Founded in 2015 by Brazilian private equity firm Patria Investments, OData was acquired by Aligned Data Centers in May 2023 and operates facilities across Chile, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico, with additional sites in development.
