Letsia Commits $13.32 Million to Build Green Data Center in Riyadh

By: IDCNOVARegion: Middle East
Saudi Arabia’s data center market is rapidly expanding, driven by national digital transformation initiatives and surging demand for cloud and AI services. In a move that underscores this growth, technology firm Letsia has announced a significant investment to establish a greenfield data center in the heart of the capital, Riyadh.

Letsia will invest SAR 50 million (approximately US$ 13.32 million) to develop its HyperDC facility. The project, which is currently in the construction and site development phase, will be located in Riyadh and aims to set a new benchmark for energy efficiency in the region. The first phase of the data center will cover 5,200 square meters and is designed to achieve a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of under 1.4, highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainability and green operations.

This investment comes at a time when the Saudi data center market is projected to grow to US$ 4.35 billion by 2031, fueled by government-backed projects like Vision 2030 and increasing adoption of hyperscale computing. By targeting a low PUE, Letsia is not only reducing its operational costs and carbon footprint but also aligning with the Kingdom's broader environmental goals. The new facility is expected to bolster local digital infrastructure, providing capacity for enterprises and government entities seeking sovereign and sustainable data services.
