Equinix Expands Microsoft Azure Connectivity in Malaysia and Indonesia

Equinix has expanded the availability of Microsoft Azure connectivity within its International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Jakarta, Indonesia. The move is designed to enable organizations in both countries to securely connect to Microsoft Azure and build scalable, low-latency, and resilient hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure capable of supporting AI and business-critical workloads.

The expansion comes as Equinix advances development of KL2, its new AI-ready IBX data center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, alongside continued growth in Indonesia. Together, these efforts reinforce Equinix's position as a leading cloud ecosystem provider in Southeast Asia, giving enterprises the ability to deploy distributed digital infrastructure that supports AI innovation, modern applications, and mission-critical operations.

Equinix operates one of the most interconnected cloud ecosystems in both Malaysia and Jakarta, offering access to major cloud service providers including Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud. The addition of Azure connectivity gives enterprises greater flexibility to architect secure hybrid multi-cloud environments, optimize application performance through private low-latency connections, strengthen network resilience, and run AI and high-intensity workloads closer to end users.
