Data center firm Edged reportedly up for sale in deal valued at up to $15 billion

By: IDCNOVARegion: North America
Data center developer Edged may be heading to new ownership, as its backer Koch Inc. explores a potential sale that could value the company at up to $15 billion, according to a Bloomberg report citing sources familiar with the matter.

Koch, which co-founded Edged, has engaged Goldman Sachs to gauge buyer interest and has already received multiple bids, the report said. Details of potential acquirers were not disclosed. Discussions remain ongoing, and no final agreement has been reached. Neither Koch nor Edged responded to Bloomberg's request for comment.

The potential sale underscores the sustained investor appetite for data center infrastructure assets, which have become increasingly critical as demand for digital services and artificial intelligence workloads continues to drive capacity needs across global markets. With valuations soaring in the sector, privately held developers with substantial land and construction pipelines have become attractive targets for institutional capital and strategic buyers alike.

Formerly known as Edged Energy, the company operates as part of Endeavour, a platform established by Aligned founder Jakob Carnemark. Edged is also a portfolio company of Koch Real Estate Investments, according to Koch Inc.'s website. The company has data centers either operating or in development in Bilbao, Madrid, and Barcelona in Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and across multiple U.S. states, including Missouri, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.

Beyond its core data center business, Endeavour has built a broader portfolio of power and cooling-related ventures supporting both data centers and electric vehicles. These include ThermalWork, which develops cooling technology; TurboCell, a power division; and Pact, a hydrogen production system. The breadth of these offerings could add strategic value for a buyer looking to secure energy and thermal management capabilities alongside traditional data center infrastructure.

Founded in 1940, Koch Inc. is a U.S.-based multinational conglomerate owned by the billionaire Koch family and ranks among the largest privately held companies in the United States and globally. A sale of Edged would mark a significant divestiture for the group, reflecting a broader trend of industrial conglomerates and investment firms capitalizing on record valuations in the digital infrastructure space.
