Rum Group signs $13.7bn GPU lease deal with unnamed US cloud customer for Georgia data center

By: IDCNOVARegion: East Asia
Rum Group, the company formerly known as Rumble Inc., has entered into a landmark capacity lease agreement for its data center campus in Maysville, Georgia, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The contract, signed with an unnamed "US-based third-party cloud customer," grants access to GPUs and GPU services at the site, which is currently under development.

The deal carries a total contract value of up to $13.7 billion, spread across three tranches of GPU service purchases over the six-year commercial agreement term. The third tranche is contingent on the customer's approval of the delivery schedule, adding a layer of flexibility to the arrangement. In addition to the lease terms, the contract includes warrants allowing the customer to purchase up to 50.81 million shares of Rum Group's Class A common stock at $0.01 per share. These warrants vest gradually and are tied to the volume of customer purchases, aligning the customer's financial incentives with the long-term success of the partnership.

The Maysville campus was originally pursued by Northern Data, which announced plans for the site in December 2024. At the time, the facility was projected to offer 120MW of capacity, with potential expansion to 180MW, and was expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2027. Rum Group's acquisition of Northern Data, completed in June 2026, saw the company purchase 85 percent of the German technology group's outstanding common shares, gaining its European footprint and rebranding the combined entity as Rum Group. The acquisition was part of a broader strategy to scale the company's cloud business, which has since been renamed Quake AI.

Rumble was originally founded as a video platform and cloud services provider that positioned itself as a champion of free expression, pledging not to cancel users. The company's cloud arm, Quake AI, was established in 2023 and hosts President Donald Trump's Truth Social platform. Rum Group continues to operate sites across the United States, with the Maysville campus representing a key piece of its expansion plans.

The deal comes on the heels of other significant moves by the company. Earlier this year, Rum Group secured a contract with Together AI to provide Nvidia HGX B300 systems as dedicated cloud capacity for the AI firm. The company also posted its quarterly earnings for the period ending June 30, 2026, earlier this month, reporting revenue of $40.36 million, up from $25.08 million in the same period last year. Total expenses rose to $111.15 million, up from $51.7 million, resulting in a net loss of $79.144 million attributable to Rum Group.

The lease agreement underscores the intensifying demand for GPU-powered cloud infrastructure, driven by the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence across industries. By locking in a multi-billion-dollar commitment from a major cloud customer, Rum Group is positioning itself as a significant player in the increasingly competitive AI infrastructure market. The deal also highlights how data center operators are leveraging long-term contracts and equity incentives to secure anchor tenants in a capital-intensive sector where demand for high-performance computing continues to outpace supply.
