US data center developer Rowan Digital Infrastructure has filed plans to construct a second building at its data center campus in Temple, Texas, signaling continued expansion in the fast-growing central Texas market. The project, known as AUS02 Building 2, will be located at 1855 Bob White Road in Bell County.
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the single-story facility will span 500,000 square feet (46,451 square meters) and carry a construction budget of $780 million. Work is scheduled to begin in August 2026 and reach completion by August 2027. The campus, which covers approximately 700 acres, has a total potential capacity of 300 MW once fully built out.
Rowan broke ground on the first building at the Bob White Road site earlier this year, with that initial structure expected to come online in 2027. The newly filed second building will be the company’s second data center project in Temple. Rowan’s first facility in the city, the Moriah Data Center located at 2810 Bob White Road in Synergy Park, was completed in 2023 but its tenant vacated the property in 2024. Rowan is now planning to repurpose that site as a warehouse.
Founded in 2021 by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Birch Infrastructure, Rowan Digital Infrastructure (formerly Rowan Green Data) has been expanding its portfolio across the United States. The company is also developing data centers in Maryland and Oregon, with additional sites near San Antonio, Texas. In a move that underscores investor confidence in the firm’s growth trajectory, Blackstone acquired a significant minority stake in Rowan earlier this year.
The Temple expansion reflects the broader surge in data center construction across the southern U.S., driven by demand for cloud computing and AI workloads. With a large land bank and proximity to power infrastructure, central Texas has become a hotspot for large-scale data center campuses. Rowan’s 300 MW master plan positions it to serve hyperscale tenants seeking build-to-suit capacity in the region.
