Neocloud provider Bitdeer AI has entered into a 10-year data center services agreement in Malaysia, securing 67MW of capacity at a campus designated A901. The deal marks the company's third location in the country and underscores the accelerating demand for liquid-cooled, rack-scale AI infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
The A901 facility will be engineered specifically for liquid-cooled Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems, with capacity expected to begin delivery in the first quarter of 2027 and full completion targeted for the second quarter of that year. Bitdeer did not disclose the exact location or the operator of the data center. The new site joins Bitdeer's existing Malaysian data centers in Cyberjaya and Johor, bringing its global contracted capacity across Malaysia, Norway, and the United States to 273.5MW — approximately 78 percent of its stated goal of 350MW by the first quarter of 2028.
The agreement arrives just weeks after Bitdeer AI signed a separate deal for A202, a 65.1MW facility in Johor Bahru, signaling a rapid expansion cadence in the region. "Demand for liquid-cooled, rack-scale AI capacity in Southeast Asia is running ahead of what the market can deliver, and customers are asking for it earlier and in larger blocks," said Michael G. Potter, chief financial officer of Bitdeer Technologies Group. "A901 adds 67MW in a third Malaysian location, which widens the set of sites and delivery dates we can put in front of a customer."
Bitdeer began as a cryptocurrency miner but has increasingly pivoted toward data center operations and cloud services, repurposing mining facilities in Washington, Tennessee, and Norway into AI hosting infrastructure. The company also recently signed a non-binding letter of intent to develop an AI data center in Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City, targeting an initial 30MW of renewable hydro and solar-powered capacity with a potential expansion pathway to 500MW.
The latest agreement highlights the growing competition among neocloud providers to lock in power and space for next-generation AI workloads in Southeast Asia, where supply of liquid-cooled capacity remains tight relative to surging customer demand. Bitdeer's ability to bring multiple Malaysian sites online in rapid succession could strengthen its position as a regional AI infrastructure provider as hyperscalers and enterprises seek earlier delivery timelines and larger capacity blocks.
